Summary:
Federated Media is looking for a talented and dedicated Sr. Lead Engineer to join our San Francisco based team. We’re looking for someone who likes working in a fast-paced dynamic environment and enjoys starting new projects from concept to scaled product. You should be a hands-on leader, with experience delivering projects in a small team environment. Ideal candidates are those that would flourish in fast, iterative development environments, because that’s who we are.
The Sr. Lead Engineer will be joining a great team of engineers building out next generation suite of products and tools for our media and marketing partners. This position is located in San Francisco.
Essential Functions of the job (main duties):
· Develop new products and features for our Ad Platform, new Ad products, and external client API services.
· Take incoming requirements from the product team and create elegant solutions from these complex requirements
· Lead, mentor, and train junior engineers
· Work as part of the Engineering team to scalable, easily maintainable and feature-robust products.
· Write quality, maintainable, and well-documented code
· Work directly with customers, sales, and product managers to help determine and solve the customer needs and product goals
Skills/Requirements
· 7+ years experience DB-driven web applications
· Experience with MVC frameworks like Rails, Django, or Symfony is required
· Experience with large scale distributed data processing using Hadoop required
· Ideal candidate would be comfortable in multiple languages including PHP or Python, Java, PERL
· Expert proficiency in Unix command-line
· Hands-on experience in the full software development lifecycle, code versioning, deployment practices, and testing patterns
· Good time management and prioritization skills; self-starters especially welcome.
· Excellent communication skills: you can write a spec, and talk about what you’ve built with other engineers
· Experience working with an iterative, agile process
· BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
· Must have permission to work in the US
